The Beginning

The idea for The Grit Academy started as a bit of light hearted banter. Sitting with my sisters — young ladies in their teens and early twenties — we joked about how I could teach young guys how to talk to girls given the skills I had learned over the past decade. It started as a lighthearted conversation, but I realized something bigger was happening.

I began to realize that communication wasn’t just an issue for a few awkward guys—it was a growing problem for an entire generation. In the era of social media, a change in digital communication, and the sudden uprising of AI, humans have changed the way we interact.

Face-to-face conversations are becoming less and less common, and a lot of people struggle with confidence in the real-world. While AI will solve a lot of the problems we face, the ability to hold a conversation, speak with confidence, and connect with others will soon become one of the most valuable skills a person can have.

Those who can communicate effectively will have a massive advantage in life.

A Life of Face-to-Face Conversations

Over the last 13 years, I’ve had over 100,000 one-on-one, face-to-face conversations with people in a wide variety of settings. Face to face marketing - door to door, streets, events, markets - working for accounting firms, real estate companies and insurance brokers, has taught me a lot about communication.

What I notice most is that people aren’t struggling with what to say. They’re struggling with how to say it. Listening, how to read body language, and how to really connect with people are skills that are declining.

Too often, people talk over each other, missing key details, misunderstanding each other, or failing to express themselves in a way that’s truly understood.

That’s why I've started The Grit Academy — to teach teenagers and young adults the fundamentals of real-world, effective communication that will set them up for life.

The Grit Academy’s Mission

My goal for the last 10 years as been to help other people become the best versions of themselves in some way shape or form, and recently I have realized I can do that through teaching communication, and instilling confidence and grit.

Although my career has always been about sales and fundraising, this isn’t about teaching advanced sales tactics or high-level negotiation strategies. This is about helping teenagers and young adults learn the skills to be the best versions of themselves — making friends, building relationships, holding their own in job interviews, and becoming the type of person who can communicate clearly and confidently.

Something that I am aware of is that most communication coaching today is aimed at Fortune 500 companies, high-level executives, and wealthy professionals. But what about the people who don’t even know where to start?

The Grit Academy is for the teenagers and young adults who lack confidence, the ones who struggle to hold conversations, and the ones who want to improve but don’t know where to begin.

The First Step in a New Journey

This is just the beginning. The first 4-week coaching program is launching soon, designed to help young adults develop strong communication skills, real-world confidence, and the grit to take on any challenge.

This is more than just another online course—it’s a real world interactive program designed to bring back real, human connection in a world that’s losing it.

If you’re ready to take that first step, The Grit Academy is here to help.
